Renowned tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed new details about OnePlus’s upcoming flagship, the OnePlus 15, suggesting a major design shift and serious camera innovation. The device is shaping up to be a true successor to the OnePlus 13, with a blend of premium materials, upgraded internals, and an all-new imaging direction that signals the company’s growing independence in smartphone photography.

Redesigned Display with iPhone-Inspired Aesthetics

According to the leak, the OnePlus 15 will sport a 6.78-inch flat LTPO OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution (roughly 1264 x 2780 pixels). The display is said to feature ultra-slim bezels courtesy of LIPO technology, giving it a symmetrical and minimal look akin to Apple’s iPhone series. Although this marks a slight downgrade in resolution from the OnePlus 13’s 2K curved screen, the inclusion of 120Hz refresh rate and LTPO adaptive refresh (1Hz to 120Hz) ensures both power efficiency and smooth performance for gaming and multimedia.

Flat-Edge Design, IP Rating, and Modern Camera Housing

The overall design of the OnePlus 15 is expected to move away from the circular camera module found on the OnePlus 13. Instead, OnePlus may opt for a rectangular or squarish camera island, giving the rear a more modern, possibly lightweight form factor. The device is rumored to feature a fiberglass rear panel and carry an IP68/IP69 rating, offering enhanced protection against water and dust ingress.

New Camera Hardware Without Hasselblad Branding

The OnePlus 15 could debut a 50MP triple-camera setup, led by what is likely a Sony LYT-808 main sensor (1/1.4″), complemented by a 50MP ultra-wide (Samsung JN5, 1/2.76″) and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto lens, suitable for zoom and macro photography. Performance is expected to be particularly strong in low-light scenarios.

Interestingly, this model will not feature Hasselblad branding, a departure from OnePlus’s previous flagships. Instead, the company is said to be launching its own independent imaging brand, designed to offer custom-tuned photo and video output—similar to what Vivo does with ZEISS and Xiaomi with Leica. This move is aimed at giving OnePlus greater creative control over its camera experience.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (SM8850) and Performance Expectations

At the heart of the OnePlus 15 is Qualcomm’s SM8850 chip, widely expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (or Elite 2). This SoC is rumored to come with 5GHz peak clock speeds and new Pegasus cores, which could provide a 30% performance boost over the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Preliminary Geekbench scores suggest ~3200 in single-core and ~11,000 in multi-core performance, highlighting the phone’s prowess in gaming, multitasking, and AI-driven tasks. Paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, users can expect blazing-fast app loading and fluid multitasking.
